The Oakland Police Need Your Help.
The Oakland Police Foundation is raising money to create the Oakland Police Officers Leadership Institute (OPOLI), a joint venture between the Foundation, The Oakland Police Department, and The Oakland Police Officers Association. In the next few years, more than half of OPD’s officers will have 5 years or less experience on the job. The OPOLI training experience is designed to address this challenge by creating a cadre of new officers with enhanced leadership skills and policing knowledge. The goal of the Institute is to develop officers who are effective, courageous and visionary leaders. Leaders with the character to inspire and empower others, the skills to change things for the better, and a willingness to do things they think they can not do.
The Oakland Police Foundation is holding a fundraising event on Thursday, May 10th from 5:30-7: 30 pm at the Belleview Club, 525 Bellevue Avenue, in Oakland. We hope you will join us that evening and are willing to donate at one of the sponsor levels listed below.
